In an effort to give back to my military credit card community, I am offering the opportunity to share your American Express Platinum Card referral link with some of my new readers.
Here's what my reader “TB” wrote me 3 days after sending in his AMEX Platinum referral link:
Spencer – Thank you for doing this. I have already received points for a referral. Cheers.
The only thing I ask for is for you to sign up for my Ultimate Military Credit Cards Course and have one interested friend sign up for the course as well.
Here are the Rules:
- Sign up for my Ultimate Military Credit Cards Course.
- Get a friend to sign up for the course.
- Complete the course.
- Check out my top recommend military credit cards page.
- When you receive your Course graduation email, respond to the email with your AMEX Platinum referral link and the email address of the person you referred to the Ultimate Military Credit Cards Course.
How I Will Share Your Credit Card Referral Link
Once I have your email confirming course graduation and the email of the person you referred to the UMC3 course, I will add your link to the rotation of links I share with new readers.
I do NOT guarantee that I can generate any Refer a Friend bonuses for you. You are doing this completely voluntary and you may NEVER see a bonus. This is an experiment in sharing between my site and my awesome military community.
If it works and you get some referral bonuses, awesome! If it doesn't work, you at least introduced another military servicemember to the awesome SCRA and MLA benefits available to them.
Referral links will be posted on a random basis, so just because you are the last person to submit a link does not mean you will have to wait weeks for any referrals to come through.
Please let me know via email if your referral link maxes out, which is 55,000 AMEX Membership Reward points per year. On the AMEX Platinum card, that's just 4 referrals.
The first 3 are at 15,000 points each and the last referral is 10,000 points. It will look like this:
If you do get any referral bonuses, please leave a comment on this post so others know it's working!
How AMEX Refer a Friend Works
Many credit cards, including all American Express cards, offer some kind of “Refer a Friend” Program. Here's a screenshot from the AMEX app describing the AMEX Credit Card Refer a Friend program:
When you refer a friend for a credit card, your friend can usually access a welcome bonus as good as the best publicly available offer and you can usually get some bonus points as well. Here's the text from the AMEX Refer a Friend program:
You can earn: 15,000 Membership Rewards points for each approved referral – up to 55,000 Membership Rewards points per calendar year.
Each friend can earn: 60,000 Membership Rewards points after they use their new Platinum Card to make $5,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of Card Membership. Your friend will be able to choose from all available American Express Personal and Business Card offers. You can receive your referral bonus no matter what Card your friend is approved for.
How it works: Refer a friend using any of the options below. For you to qualify for the bonus, your friend must apply through the offer link and be approved. Your bonus will be posted to your account within 8-12 weeks after your friend is approved.AMEX Refer a Friend Terms and Conditions
Referral links are often a touchy subject among work colleagues and friends. You don't want to sound like a MLM scammer when trying to get your friends to sign up for a credit card, but it benefits both you and them.
So, rather than continuing to share your link with your Facebook friends or the new guy/gal at work, why not let me help you out? Follow the rules above and send me your link!
