Navy Federal cashRewards Features
This card has no annual fee, making it a great first starter card to build your credit on. You can leave this card open forever and age your credit history.
The welcome bonus for the cashRewards is a $100 cash back bonus when you spend $2,000 in 90 days of account opening. That equals 5% cash back plus the regular 1.5% cash back means you can earn 6.5% cash back on the first $2,000 you spend on the card. That's $130 you can earn in the first 90 days of card membership.
1.5% Cash Back
A 1.5% cash back rate is pretty good and compares to the Chase Freedom line up of cards.
No Foreign Transaction Fees
This is an essential benefit in the military. If you are stationed overseas or ever travel overseas TDY/TAD or on a deployment, you will want a card without foreign transaction fees.
These fees can sometimes be as high as 3%. If you spend $1000 overseas on a trip, you'll save $30 with a no foreign transaction fee card.
